Speaker of Bahrain Parliament leads Delegation Visit to Pakistan

    Islamabad; Tazeen Akhtar –  Seven Members Bahrain Parliamentary Delegation led By Speaker of Council of Representatives of the kingdom of Bahrain  arrived in Islamabad on 17th November 2021 on five days official visit on the invitation of Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser. Parliamentary Delegation will meet President Dr.Arif Alvi, Prime Minister  Mr. Imran Khan, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Foreign Minister , Members of Pakistan- Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship group in National Assembly and other dignitaries.

    Matters related to Inter-Parliamentary cooperation, Bilateral Relations, trade, Regional Security issues, and Strategies and cooperation in the diverse economic fields would be deliberated upon during the Calls on of the Bahrain Parliamentary Delegation. The delegation would also visit historical and traditional sights in Islamabad.

    Bahrain Parliamentary Delegation is headed by Mrs. Fawzaia bint Abdullah Zainal, Speaker Of the Council Of Representatives of the kingdom of Bahrain and accompanied by Mr. Ahmad Zayed , Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives , Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sisi Chairman of Foreign Affairs, Mr.Khaled Saleh Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment committee, Mr.Ghazi Faisal Al Rahma Member of Bahrain-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group , Syed Falah Hashem Falah and Mr. Abdualah Members of Bahrain Parliament.

    The delegation was welcomed at Islamabad airport by MNA Naureen Ibrahim. Ambassador Mohammad Ibrahim was also present.

    Speaker Asad Qaiser met with the delegation the same day on arrival. Both speakers shared their experiences in running the houses’ sessions. They discussed the matters of strengthening cooperation between the two parliaments and the members.

    “Enhancing Parliamentary contacts are vital for strengthening bilateral relations between Bahrain and Pakistan,” said Convener Pakistan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group/MNA Abdul Shakur Shaad during a meet with visiting Parliamentary delegation of Bahrain today.

    Convener said that people of both countries can benefit by expanding cooperation in the field of trade, investment and human resources development. He also said that the Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) issue is an unfinished agenda and sought the support of Bahrain in this regard.

    He congratulated Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the kingdom of Bahrain and the people of Bahrain on the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Independence of Bahrain.

    Member of Pakistan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group/MNA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the Pakistani diaspora was playing an important role in the socio-economic development of Bahrain as well as of Pakistan. He said that this kind of Parliamentary interaction would strengthen relations between both countries.

    MNA Noreen Farooq Ibrahim expressed her gratitude to the government of Bahrain for supporting Pakistani workers especially during the peak of Pandemic COVID-19.

    Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and National Security Committee of Bahrain Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Al Sisi said that we are hosting the Pakistani community in Bahrain and have always sought security and strategic relations. He said that together we can learn from each other’s experiences in the legislative process. He expressed gratitude for the great hospitality extended to Bahrain parliamentary delegation in Pakistan.

    This visit of the Parliamentary delegation is regarded as a harbinger of change and will prove a milestone for strengthening relations between both countries.This visit would also open new avenues of Political and Parliamentary cooperation and coordination between two brotherly countries.
