Islamabad: Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Mirodov arrives at the Foreign Ministry on the sidelines of an extraordinary meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers

He held a meeting  with Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi. During the meeting, issues of mutual interest including bilateral relations and regional situation were discussed. Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov was also present.

Foreign Minister thanked the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan for attending the extraordinary meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers. He noted that Turkmenistan, being an important country in Central Asia, is of special importance to Pakistan.

He congratulations to the people and leadership of Turkmenistan on the completion of 25 years of “permanent neutrality.We want lasting and fruitful relations with Central Asian states under Central Asia Vision.

The Foreign Minister emphasized the need for joint efforts to enhance bilateral trade through enhanced ties.

“We would be happy to give Turkmenistan access to Gwadar and Karachi ports for trade links with the Middle East and Africa.” Qureshi said.

Pakistan is committed to early completion of Tapi gas pipeline project.

Pakistan is looking forward to hosting the 48th meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in March 2022.

Foreign Minister Qureshi said “The hosting of two consecutive Foreign Ministers’ Council meetings is a manifestation of Pakistan’s serious thinking for the Muslim world.Pakistan calls OIC strong voice of Muslim Ummah, demands Islamophobia, effective role of OIC for peace and security and conflict resolution.
