Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan received the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Mr. Mukhtar Tileuberdi, on the sidelines of the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad today.
Pakistan’s bilateral relations with Kazakhstan as well as regional and international issues were discussed during the meeting.
The Prime Minister recalled his meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in September 2021. Recalling Pakistan’s ‘Vision Central Asia’ policy, he underscored the need to intensify cooperation in enhancing trade and connectivity between the two countries.
Views were exchanged on various regional and international issues including Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister Tileuberdi briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan on the developments in Kazakhstan and its bilateral cooperation with Pakistan.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue enhancing cooperation between the two countries in all areas of mutual interest, including at regional and international forums like the UN, OIC, SCO and ECO. He also looked forward to the visit of President Tokayev to Pakistan later this year.
