Islamabad: To mark World Anti-Human Trafficking Day, the Federal Investigation Agency – FIA and the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD Silk Routes ) jointly organized a cycling rally to raise awareness on the issue of Trafficking in Persons.
Ambassador Denmark Ms Lis with her team participated in the cycling rally and highlighted the importance of awareness raising on migration-related issues and stated that human trafficking is a crime against the whole of humanity! She added that this battle cannot be fought alone & it is time to join forces & work together to free its victims and to eradicate this crime that affects all from individual families to worldwide community.
Combatting human trafficking in Pakistan is a key priority of the Government of Pakistan given that it is a source, transit and destination country for victims of trafficking. Within the FIA, the Anti-Human Smuggling & Trafficking units as well as the Cyber Crimes Unit are actively involved in the fight against human trafficking.
