Former Prime Minister who is the hardest opponent of military intervention in politics is seeking the same military’s cooperation for his so called anti – corruption agenda accomplishment. Staunch Critic of Military and ISI admits he had been enjoying the support of both in political matters. In a meeting with Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors in Lahore the most popular leader (what he claims himself) found saying “My government was week and General Bajwa was all in all. He said, “Gen Faiz’ Removal Made My Ousting Clear – Bajwa was not against Corruption – I Offered him Extension”
He expressed these views during a meeting with the delegation of the Standing Committee led by Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) President Kazim Khan. Here it is worth mentioning that Kazim Khan is the same person who was blamed for pretending to be Shehbaz Gill at P.S Secretariat in a released video by the PTI stalwarts. Interestingly , Kazim was present before Imran Khan but neither Imran nor Fawad and Musarrat Jamshaid Cheema uttered a word about that scene.
Imran Khan said that Our government was weak, ISI had to be asked to legislate I will go along with the army if the system of accountability is improved by getting out of ISI interference in private matters like telephone recording. after the end of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assemblies, elections within 90 days are the biggest test of neutrality. If the elections are not held, these constitutions will defy Pakistan and Pakistan will directly default, if the country defaults, the country will go far behind.
Elections in 60% of the country will make them wise and the neutrals standing behind will also know.Pakistan army and government cannot be separated, I will never accept a weak government, even if we get a strong government, I will go along with the army if the system of accountability is improved by getting out of ISI interference in private matters like telephone recording.
The economic system of the country can be improved if we cooperate to do this, because in terms of discipline, the army is the only institution that is left.
The regime change in Pakistan has proved that corruption was not an issue for General Bajwa and it will not be correct to say that they will take action against General (R) Bajwa after coming to power.
Imran Khan said that after replacing General Faiz, it came to know that a plan has been made to remove me.
I told General Bajwa that there are cases of 16 billion against Shahbaz Sharif, how can he be brought? He said why did Bajwa do this? I don’t know, but this was the decision of General Bajwa alone in the army.
I also received messages from the Americans. I don’t know whether they suggested something to Bajwa or he shared something with them, but I offered General Bajwa that if there is a problem of job extension,we give you but Bajwa said no, there is no problem, don’t worry, nothing will happen.
