Pakistan Afghanistan Sign Preferential Trade Agreement

ISLAMABAD: 23 July 2025 – The preferential trade agreement between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan represented by the Maulvi Ahmadullah Zahid, the Minister of Commerce, and the Ministry of Commerce of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, represented by Jawad Paal, the Secretary of ministry of Commerce, was officially signed.
Based on the interest of the agreement, customs tariffs on four Afghanistan export pens to Pakistan — grapes, pomegranates, apples and pomegranates — as well as four Pakistan export pens to Afghanistan — mango, quinoa, banana and aloe — which previously were more than 60%, will henceforth be It will be cut by 27%.
The agreement will be put into effect for one year from the beginning of August 2025, and is renewable, with the possibility of additional items in the future.
