All Set for Single Country Exhibition of Pakistan in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, Minister Commerce Arrives , A.S MOFA holds Precursor Meetings

    Addis Ababa – 14 Oct  2025  : As shared and published by “Pakistan in the World” media group after hosting a round table on Africa Pakistan Cooperation on 19 Sep 2025, with Additional Secretary MOFA Amb Hamid Asghar Khan and Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed on board and African Envoys in presence at COPAIR think tank, all is set for Single Country Exhibition of Pakistan in Addis Ababa , Ethiopia.

    Additional Secretary MOFA Pakistan informed the participants from 10 Diplomatic Missions of African countries about the exhibition to be held this month with huge presence of Pakistani companies.

    Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce arrived today at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, leading a high-level trade delegation to participate in the 5th Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference (PATDC) and Single Country Exhibition (SCE), scheduled to be held from 16th to 18th October 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

    Amb Hamid Asghar Khan left for Addis Ababa two days ago to look after the arrangements. Ambassador Ethiopia Jemal Beker Abdullah accompanied him.

    The Minister Commerce was warmly received at the airport by H.E. Mr. Burhanu Tsegeye, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia; Mr. Abdul Hakim Mulu, Minister of State for Trade and Regional Integration; Mr. Diwano Kedir, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ambassador Jamal Baker; and officials of the Pakistan Embassy in Addis Ababa, including the Trade and Investment Officer.

    Organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), the PATDC and SCE represent a flagship initiative of the Government of Pakistan to deepen economic and commercial engagement with African nations.

    This year’s edition in Ethiopia marks a significant milestone in advancing Pakistan’s “Look Africa Policy”, aimed at diversifying export markets and strengthening economic partnerships with Africa.

    More than 110 leading Pakistani companies from sectors including textiles, pharmaceuticals, engineering, IT, agriculture, and food processing are participating in the exhibition, showcasing Pakistan’s growing industrial capacity and export potential.

    During the visit, the Minister for Commerce will also hold bilateral meetings with Ethiopian counterparts, senior government officials, and business leaders to explore avenues for enhanced trade cooperation and investment.

    The event underscores Pakistan’s strong commitment to forging mutually beneficial partnerships across the African continent and promoting inclusive economic growth through trade diplomacy.

    Earlier, Additional Secretary Hamid Asghar Khan held a meeting  with Minister of State for Foreign , alongwith Dr Jemal Baker. They had a  discussion on investments and enhancement of bilateral ties. Hamid had a very positive meeting with the youthful and articulate Commissioner (Chairman) of the Ethiopian Investment Commission Dr Zeleke Temesgen.
