ISLAMABAD : Monitoring Desk – The United Kingdom (UK) has confirmed its readiness to cooperate regarding the black box of the aircraft carrying Field Marshal Mohammed Al-Haddad, Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, and his accompanying delegation, which crashed over Ankara.

Libya Al-Ahrar TV cited the British Ministry of Transport as saying that the National Investigation Authority is ready to provide any assistance related to the black box of the Libyan military aircraft, in accordance with internationally recognized frameworks.

This development comes after Germany apologized for being unable to analyze the black box, citing a lack of the technical capabilities required to handle this type of aircraft, according to the Turkish investigation committee as relayed by the Ministry of Interior.

The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity explained that four countries had been proposed as alternative and neutral options to examine the black box. It added that the Libyan and Turkish sides; with the unanimous agreement of the Libyan committee, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Turkish Chief Public Prosecutor, and the Libyan Attorney General, ultimately agreed on Britain as a neutral destination to complete the technical procedures.

The ministry further noted that the two Libyan delegations, represented by the Interior and Transport committees, were briefed on a detailed presentation outlining the sequence of events from the aircraft’s arrival in Turkey until it disappeared from radar screens, in addition to a review of the measures taken from the very first moments following the incident.
