Prime Minister and COAS & CDF Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir meeting with the Iranian delegation led by Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi at US-Iran technical level talks as a follow -up of Islamabad MoU being held in Burgenstock, Switzerland.
An Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is in Switzerland for negotiations with the United States and to ensure the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Tehran and Washington.
U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday threatened to impose U.S. tolls in the Strait of Hormuz if a final deal with Iran isn’t reached in 60 days.
Trump, spending the weekend at Camp David, underscored that the initial agreement to end the war with Iran calls for toll-free travel through the vital waterway for 60 days.
Then he said: “there will be NO TOLLS after the 60 day period has expired, unless they are imposed by and for the United States of America, should the deal not be completed.”
On 20 June, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Saturday to discuss the latest developments and decisions related to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, a Pakistani-mediated agreement signed earlier this week between the presidents of Iran and the United States.
Democratic US Senator Van Hollen criticized the U.S. and Israeli military intervention in Iran, specifically calling it an “illegal war” and a strategic blunder that left Washington in a worse position than before it started.
His remarks are part of a broader chorus of criticism from Democratic lawmakers—including Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Rosa DeLauro—who have condemned the military action as a “war of choice” launched without congressional authorization, clear justification, or an exit strategy.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has warned that the Israeli regime is attempting to undermine the newly-signed agreement between Iran and the United States, which he said demonstrated Washington’s failure to achieve its war objectives against Tehran.
Palestinian National Initiative Secretary-General Mustafa Barghouti says the memorandum of understanding reached between Iran and the United States to end the war will benefit the Palestinian cause and marks a setback for Israeli plots in the region.
