NAB is more often blamed for destroying the future of fine officers by making false cases against them and our website posted an article very recently only a few days ago in this regard. Today Mr Khurram Hamayun a Grade 22 Account Group Officer posted as Controller General Accounts committed suicide at his house in his bed room with his pistol in DHA Rawat near Twin Cities of Islamabad Rawalpindi. Sources close to him and the record reveal that he was wrongfully implicated in a NAB reference (Farzana Raja/BISP case) and was in terrible stress.

Preliminarty report of Police says that today dated 29/12/2020 at about 0720hrs Suicide incident took place at Street #12, House D-197 Sector D phase 8 PS Rawat Rawalpindi.

As per details, Mr Khurram Hamayun a Grade 22 Account Group Officer posted as Controller General Accounts, owner of this house has committed suicide. As per Fazal working in the house for 4 years as a cook, that Mr Khurram’s wife went out of city two days ago and his son is also out of country. His mother and sister are abnormal.Mr Khurram was working as Controller Accounts officer in Grade 22 in AGPR and according to source information his inquiries regarding corruption are in progress in NAB.

Sources close to Mr Khurram say that he was a very sweet and humble soul. All of us who had done courses with him and then have served as colleagues have fond memories of him as a thorough gentleman and a man of great integrity. he was wrongfully implicated in a NAB reference (Farzana Raja/BISP case) and was in terrible stress.

He appeared in NAB court only a week ago on 21 Dec 2020. Apparently he  could not withstand the grave humiliation of NAB and of the court environment where he appeared as an accused. This was the natural outcome of the situation he was undergoing.

He was terribly afraid of the possible humiliation which he and his family could face at the hands of NAB, media and among colleagues.

Here it is worth noting that If you ever happen to be in the accountability courts of different cities you will find serving and retired  officers who are bound to face wrongful cases of nab for ‘misuse of authority’.

The officers of accounts group and other groups as well are not taking decisions and initiatives since long only because they are afraid of being prosecuted and persecuted by NAB for so called misuse of authority.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr Imran Khan long ago addressing the officers pushed them to perform and do not afraid of NAB. This proves that the problem is more gigantic than it is being taken. And the Prime Minister of the country understands it but can not do anything.

The officers are contacting and convincing one another to raise consensus against NAB before it is too late.https://pakistanintheworld.pk/live/playing-with-futures-of-gentlemen-in-the-garb-of-accountability-by-ayesha-khan/
