Islamabad: 11 Jan 2024 – Ambassador of Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr.Yerzhan Kistafin has noted that Kazakhstan and Pakistan enjoy longstanding cultural and historical relations that can pave the way to strengthening bilateral cooperation in diversified sectors.
Ambassador said this at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) where he was invited by Mr. Ayoub Jamali, Director General of PNCA as a guest of Honor to inaugurate combined photo exhibition “Fly on the Wall” with the participation of famous Pakistani and foreign photographers.
Mr.Yerzhan Kistafin addressed the artists and the participants and shared his views on the promotion of cultural relations between two countries. He emphasized the decisive role of creativity in the spiritual rapprochement of different cultures.
The Ambassador noted the 12th meeting of the Kazakh-Pakistani Intergovernmental commission that took place on December 20-21, following which a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Culture was signed.
The artists whose masterpeices were displayed included Ali Mehdi Zaidi, Lukas Werth, Arif Mehmood, Malcolm Hutcheson, Aysha Vellani, Shehzad Noorani, Aysha Bilal, Stephan Andrew, Hameed Moinuddin, William Dalrymple and Zaheer Chaudhry. The photographs of the work were prepared by Aasim Akhtar.
The Ambassador got acquainted with the exhibition, after which he held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Ayoub Jamali, DG of PNCA. During the negotiations, the need to further establish and strengthen cooperation in the field of culture was noted.
In particular, it was proposed to organize mutual tours of artists, musicians, as well as to establish cooperation between museums of the two countries.
Here it is worth mentioning that Embassy of Kazakhstan in Islamabad is working on the cultural interactions for long. The most recent cultural event was organized at Serena Hotel in Oct 2023 in which renown artists of Kazakhstan participated. This cultural gala presented the traditional dresses and other cultural aspects of the Republic.
