Armenia will see Pakistan always Standing with Azerbaijan – Minister Assures Permanent Support

Islamabad; 23 Feb 2021 – Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Khan Afridi has said that Pakistan supports Azerbaijan on Nagorno-Karabakh on principle grounds. Armenian aggression and occupation on Azerbaijani territories is challenge to peace and justice in the world. United Nations and other world powers are supposed to take action on the violations of human rights in illegally occupied lands like Nagorno-Karabakh by Armenia and Jammu Kashmir by India.

He expressed these views while addressing the participants of a seminar on “Bombardments, Massacres, Genocides. Crimes Against Humanity” dedicated to the 29th Anniversary of Khojaly Genocide held here by Embassy of Azerbaijan to Pakistan.

The speakers reiterated Pakistani stance on the dispute and said Armenia will always see Pakistan standing with Azerbaijan through thick and thin. He said Khojaly massacre is clear example of the cruel acts of the occupant forces committed in the past but now on such acts will not be tolerated and be dealt with strong reaction.

Parliamentarians, Diplomats, Intellectuals attended the seminar. Member National Assembly of Pakistan Naureen Ibrahim and Parliamentary Secretary Ghazala Saifi were also present.

Ambassador Ali Alizade highlighted the genocide perpetrated by the Armenian army in Nagorno-Karabakh area of Khojaly and said that the occupational forces committed massive killings to suppress the voices against freedom of Nagorno-Karabakh. He said that despite United Nations Security Council resolutions, the world community failed to help the oppressed people of Nagorno-Karabakh. He also urged the United Nations to hold plebiscite in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council resolutions. Defence analyst Lt. General (R) Amjad Shoaib also addressed the seminar.
