Caretaker CM Punjab, Pakistan Visits Imam Bukhari’s Shrine – Observes Working of Hospitals, Tourist Police- Reviews the Cotton Cluster in Uzbekistan

    Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab province of Pakistan, Mr. Mohsin Naqvi visited Republic of Uzbekistan on 7-8 Aug 2023. CM visited the shrine of Imam Bukhari in Samarkand and offered special prayers for the integrity, stability, peace, development and prosperity of Pakistan.
    Mohsin Naqvi and the delegation visited Imam Bukhari’s memorial complex and observed the renovation work. Mohsin Naqvi said that Imam Bukhari and others Sophia and scholars of Uzbekistan and Pakistan are a common asset. It was heartening to see the architecture of the complex. He appreciated the Uzbek style of architecture and expressed interest in the beautiful tiles.
    CM along with his delegation members visited Agro Cluster and Bukhara Cotton Textile Unit in Bukhara. The delegation was briefed on cotton production, processing and value added textiles in Bukhara Agro Cluster. Chief Minister and the delegation observed the process of preparing the garments. The delegation inspected printing, dyeing, pressing and other sectors. Chief Minister Mohsin inspected the high yielding cotton plants.
    Mohsin Naqvi said that Punjab and Uzbekistan have immense opportunities for agricultural technology exchange and investment. The visit is of great importance for the agro-economy of Pakistan. The visit has paved the way for stronger agricultural relations between the two countries. We will focus fully on the practical implementation of the measures and recommendations discussed during the visit. Our teams will maintain the best coordination in agricultural development. God willing, this visit will prove to be the forerunner of agricultural revolution in Punjab.Caretaker CM observed the reception desk, referral system and various departments in Uzbek hospitals and visited the child emergency, diagnostic department, medical ward and ICU, saw medical equipment and modern beds. He got information about the treatment facilities in cardiology. He observed the treatment in the cardiac ICU equipped with the latest medical equipment and the modern library system for doctors, the training of doctors and medical staff. He interacted with the doctors and medical staff and appreciated the spirit of Uzbek doctors and staff to serve the suffering humanity.
    Mohsin Naqvi was briefed about the hospital complex in detail. He said that he was impressed by the standard healthcare facilities for patients in the hospitals of Uzbekistan. We are also trying to provide the best treatment facilities to the patients in Punjab. Inshallah, we will improve the treatment facilities in the hospitals in our province.
    Chief Minister and members of the delegation visited Tourist Police Station in Bukhara.They inspected various sections of Tourist Police Station and the system designed for the convenience of tourists was also reviewed. Mohsin Naqvi observed the digital monitoring system at the tourist police station and praised the monitoring process through the modern system.
    The delegation also inspected the reception desk established for the convenience and guidance of tourists at the Tourist Police Station. Senior officials of Uzbek Tourist Police briefed about the method of helping tourists.
    CM said that there is a need to introduce an effective system like Uzbek tourist police in the tourist places of Punjab. Tourist police will provide the best and safe environment to the tourists at the tourist places.
    Provincial Ministers SM Tanveer, Aamir Mir, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary Gohar Ejaz, Fawad Mukhtar, Shahid Sattar, Group Leader of Agriculture, Aptma and other members of the delegation were also present.
    Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi returned to Lahore after a successful visit to Uzbekistan on 09 Aug 2023. He said that the visit to Uzbekistan was very useful and beneficial. Important meetings were held with Governor Bukhara, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Textiles and Uzbek officials.
    He said, we will have seed development cooperation from Uzbekistan for higher production of cotton and wheat. The Uzbek government has assured all possible support for the development of the agricultural sector. The committee pg chief secretary and the secretary of agriculture will take rapid steps regarding cooperation in the agriculture sector. Mohsen Naqvi said that the government and people of Uzbekistan have given a lot of love which cannot be forgotten.
