This write up has been shared by the association of Pakistani students in Kyrgyz Republic – This is the voice of our students that should not be ignored by declaring FAKE. The incidents are no doubt a scar on the beautiful face of Kyrgyz Republic that should be washed away with remedial actions rather than remain in the state of denial: Editor
The foreign students in Kyrgyz Republic have declared 18 May the Black Day for the brutal attacks of Kyrgyz citizens on foreign students including Pakistani, Indian and Bengla Deshi students. Pakistani students are already connected in their Federation there. This org has issued this article to “Pakistan in the World” via another country of ASEAN where the federation has contacts with Pakistani students studying in that third country. Here is the article ;
In light of the incident that happened last night, the entire Pakistani community living in Bishkek is shocked by the cruelty of Kyrgyz citizens towards Pakistanis.
Despite the inhuman actions taken in response to the actions of the Egyptians, we still extend a hand of peace. We don’t want to sow hatred on the land that gave us a home away from our families, but recognizing the fact that there are around 10,000 Pakistani students here and we bring in around $40 million annually. The economy is afloat thanks to us, remember that.
The issue is now not secular, and if justice is not restored and the situation is not resolved to keep us safe, human rights organizations may intervene.
Students still haven’t responded to violence, insults and vandalism, but that doesn’t mean we’ll stay silent forever. We know what we deserve, and we know how to get it.
Kyrgyz citizens forget that Kyrgyz people also work abroad, how would they react if the same situation happened to them?
For anyone who says Pakistanis should return to their country and blame us that we invade here, they are wrong. It’s a global village, that’s how countries have developed over the decades and will continue to develop, but unfortunately the image that Kyrgyzstan has presented to the world will leave them to reap the fruits of their hate-filled actions.
Social media is a very powerful tool, and videos of all incidents are uploaded, people can easily judge who is the oppressor and who is the victim.
Unfortunately, the situation the students faced yesterday was as traumatic as it was for any minority in a war-torn country. The trauma inflicted on our minds will never be washed away, we do not know who is our friend and who is our enemy. Fear has taken roots in us. If you say you’re Muslim, there’s no difference between you and Israel who is attacking Palestine.
In conclusion, we strongly demand that Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies intervene and find solutions.
