National Commission on Human Rights, Ministry of Human Rights , Gov of Pakistan totally failed to respond on the situation in Gaza on the worst state of human and especially women and child rights where more than 9 thousand civilians have been martyred in Israeli indiscriminate bombardment. Half of them are children and Half in other half are women.
NCHR of Gov of Pakistan is working under the chair of Rabia Javeri Agha who herself is a disputed and challenged head of this commission. My stories about her illegal posting as Chairperson have been published. Here I am reposting them again for information of the readers.
NCHR is supposed to take care of human rights in Pakistan. The whole nation was disturbed on the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel for many days but NCHR was completely silent on the gruesome situation. NCHR avoided issuing a statement even for 10 long days of Israeli aggression on Palestinian civilians including children and women.
It was only on 16 Oct 2023 when the first statement was shared on the twitter handle of NCHR and that only after increasing pressure from the Pakistani followers. But here too NCHR did not clearly condemned Israeli bombardments on residential apartments and hospitals.
Pakistanis responding on the twitter of NCHR are cursing the management of the commission for not playing its due role on what is happening in Gaza. Foreign Minister of Pakistan has already termed it as Genocide of Palestinians.
Pakistanis are criticizing NCHR for its affiliation with the western NGOs. They say that NCHR does not want to annoy the NGOs and the funding international organizations by issuing a clear condemnation of the brutal attacks on the innocent people of Gaza.
