Islamabad; Embassy of Egypt to Pakistan has contradicted the allegation that the Egypt Embassy has imposed visa sanctions on Pakistani nationals.

In a statement issued on 23 Jan 2020, the Embassy said that these allegations are incorrect and no such sanctions policy has been placed by Egypt. The Embassy appreciates the earlier clarification of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan who denied such allegations. The process for granting the Visas is clearly indicated on the Embassy’s website and on the visa service provider website, and that the review process takes 6 weeks.

Besides the above, the Embassy emphasizes that the numbers of visa in the previous two fiscal years 2017-18 and 2018-19 increased to unprecedented levels for tourism and business visas(nearly four thousand visas in 2019, not including diplomatic and official) with a minimal rejection percentage.

The Embassy avails this opportunity to stress on the importance of the contribution of tourism, business trips, cultural and people to people exchange between both brotherly countries, as a catalyst for economy and development. In light of the friendly relationship between Egypt and Pakistan, Embassy is looking forward for an increase in the flow of visits between both countries.
