Pak Tajik Energy Ministers Hold Virtual Meeting | Discuss Progress on CASA-1000 | Ways to Enhance Cooperation

Islamabad : February 24, 2026 – Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari held a virtual meeting with Mr. Daler Juma, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. Both sides exchanged views on areas of mutual interest and discussed ways to enhance collaboration in power and energy-related initiatives.

Deliberations focused on advancing regional power connectivity, expediting the implementation of ongoing joint projects, and exploring new opportunities for sustainable energy collaboration between the two countries.

Particular attention was accorded to the progress of the CASA-1000 electricity transmission project and the enhancement of cross-border electricity trade. These initiatives are intended to bolster long-term energy security and promote regional economic integration.

The Ministers underscored the importance of regional cooperation and noted that sustained engagement could help promote reliable and sustainable energy solutions. They agreed to continue coordination through relevant channels to support shared objectives.

Both sides also emphasized the need for regular dialogue and technical-level interaction to ensure smooth follow-up on agreed matters. It was agreed that continued cooperation would help strengthen institutional linkages and contribute to long-term energy planning and development in both countries.

The meeting reflected the mutual commitment of Pakistan and Tajikistan to further deepen bilateral relations and work together for progress in the energy sector.
