    Visit of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam
    Brunei Darussalam : 6th November 2025 – General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, conducted an official visit to Brunei Darussalam from 3 to 6 November 2025.
    On 5 November, General Mirza had an audience with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzadin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
    The meeting underscored the enduring friendship between the two nations and reaffirmed the strategic depth of Pakistan–Brunei defence ties, with discussions focusing on defence cooperation, training, maritime security, and institutional linkages.
    Upon arrival, General Mirza was accorded an official welcome at Bolkiah Garrison, received by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and inspected the Guard of Honour mounted by the Royal Brunei Land Forces.
    During the visit, he held high-level meetings, including a courtesy call on Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II of Brunei Darussalam, as well as discussions with Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
    General Mirza also addressed participants at the Defence Academy of Brunei Darussalam, sharing Pakistan’s extensive experience in peacekeeping, counter-terrorism, and regional stability operations.
    He further engaged with the Commanders of the Royal Brunei Land, Navy, and Air Forces to explore collaboration in logistics, maritime surveillance, training, and humanitarian assistance/disaster-relief operations.
    The visit reflects the growing alignment between Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam on regional security and defence issues. Pakistan’s expertise in defence training and counter-terrorism complements Brunei’s focus on professionalism and regional engagement.
    Brunei’s respected role within ASEAN and APEC further provides Pakistan valuable avenues for deeper engagement in Southeast Asia.
