ISLAMABAD : Each year, the Government of Romania, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, awards study scholarships to citizens from non-EU countries. Only candidates with good academic results are eligible, namely those who have obtained a minimum average grade of 7 (seven) in the Romanian grading system, or the equivalent of a “Good” grade, for the last completed level of studies.
For further details regarding eligibility conditions, please access the Embassy website https://islamabad.mae.ro/en/local-news/1201 .
Applicants may choose their field of study in all academic areas, except for Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy. For bachelor’s and master’s studies, only programs taught in Romanian are available, thereby promoting the Romanian language and culture.
At the doctoral level, applicants may also choose a program taught in English or in another foreign language, as determined by the doctoral school. A one-year preparatory course in Romanian language is also granted before enrollment in the study program for those who do not speak Romanian.
The required documents include diplomas, transcripts of records, birth certificate, passport, and CV – all described in the application process.
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the online Study in Romania platform.
Candidates can access the platform at https://studyinromania.gov.ro
via the “Apply for MFA scholarships” button, or directly at https://scholarships.studyinromania.gov.ro/
The platform can be used in English or French.
Applications may be submitted between 16 February 2026 and 31 March 2026, with the selection results to be announced around 15 July 2026. After selection, additional formalities will be required, such as obtaining a visa.
