Islamabad; Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan,in a message, has congratulated the People and Government of Republic of Tunisia on 63rd Anniversary of Independence Day of Tunisia, celebrated on March 20, 2019. The Prime Minister further expressed his best wishes for the well being and prosperity of brotherly country.
This message was conveyed by the Minister National Food Security and Research ,Mr Mehboob Sultan at a magnificent reception hosted by Adel El-arbi Ambassador of Tunisia to mark the anniversary. Mehboob Sultan was chief guest at the reception. The reception was well attended by a large number of government representatives, civil military officials, ambassadors of African Unity,Gulf Region, European Union, Americas, Australia,South Asia and other countries.
Federal Minister in his address to the participants said that Pakistan values its relations with Tunisia. Both countries enjoy very cordial and close ties. Bilateral cooperation further increased thanks to the efforts of Ambassador Adel El-arbi. Tunisa lives in our hearts. We have a history of cooperation and this cooperation will be enhanced in the future.
Mehboob Sultan referred to bilateral MoU signing in agriculture sector by Pakistan Agriculture Research Council and Tunisian National Agriculture Organization. He said that there are vast opportunities of increase in economic cooperation.
Earlier, Ambassador Adel El-arbi in his welcome address said that Since the independence, Tunisia has achieved remarkable accomplishments in several sectors particularly in the health and education fields. This policy is attributed to the wise vision pursued by many Tunisian leaders including the leader Habib Bourgiba, the founding father of the Republic of Tunisia.

With regard to the bilateral relations between Tunisia and Pakistan, the two brotherly countries enjoy strong relations based on mutual understanding and solidarity. Tunisia and Pakistan are endeavored to translate their bound relations deeply rooted in history to foster and enlarge cooperation and partnership in all domains.
Enthusiastic staff of the embassy and their spouses warmly welcomed the guest to the reception. The spacious hall of Sheesh Mehal Serena Hotels was decorated with the flags and picturesque landscapes of Tunisia. Traditional food was also a big attraction and interest for the guests.
