Members of Global Strategic Institute for Sustainable Development Express Solidarity with Kazakhstan

Islamabad: Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Mr. Qystapa Erjan received a delegation of newly established think tank Global Strategic Institute for Sustainable Development (GSIS) that visited the Embassy last week. Ambassador expressed his interest to build collaboration with Pakistani think tanks and educational institutions.

The delegation was led by Eng Qaiser Nawab who  briefed the Ambassador about his past performance, achievements and future programs. He also discussed climate change issues in the Aral Sea area, Youth Development, Gender Empowerment, Education, Peace and Sustainable Development. 

Ambassador said that sustainable development, peace and stability in the region is our priority.

Later, in a fresh statement, Mr. Qaiser Nawab  has said  that we stand in solidarity with all peaceful forces working to ensure global sustainability. Unrest in any corner of the world, we feel, has an impact on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. We would like to express our deep and sincere regrets for the recent tragic events that have affected the Kazakh people.

He expressed  hope that the situation in Kazakhstan will return to normal soon. Kazakhstan’s government is working to find a peaceful solution to the unrest.The public, especially the youth should remain calm and participate in the peaceful resolution of the issues.

Qaiser Nawab condemned  violent actions of mobs and expressed full solidarity with  Kazakh Government and its people in their undeserved tragedy. 

The civil society must remain strong, united and committed to the very values of patriotism, mutual respect, and peace. We believe that recent tensions will be resolved so that we can move towards peace and prosperity through mutual collaboration,” He concluded.
