Tarbela Ghazi: 30 May 2022 – Former MNA and Provincial Minister Mian Gul Adnan Aurangzeb died in a traffic accident near Shah Maqsood Haripur. May Allah bless his soul and grant courage to his family to bear the burden of this irreparable loss.
He had come to Abbottabad for his personal work. On his way back, his car AFG 154 had an accident near Shah Maqsood Haripur in which his leg was broken and he was shifted to Trauma Center Haripur while he was conscious.
Upon learning of the accident, his younger brother Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb reached the trauma center and was shifting him to Islamabad but he breathed his last on the way. His funeral is on 31 May at Saidu Shareef.
Mian Gul Adnan Aurangzeb was an engineer.He graduated from Aitchison College Lahore. He was a professional electrical engineer who studied in the United States at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He was member of National Assembly fron 1997 to 1999.
He was grandson of Mian Gul Jehanzeb, the Last Waali (Head) of the State of Swat, son of Former Governor of Balochistan, Mian Gul Aurangzeb, Elder brother of Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb of Islamabad High court, son-in-law of former foreign minister Gohar Ayub and brother-in-law of former federal minister Omar Ayub.
Umar Ayub had to bear two shocks in one last week. Umar was severely tortured by Punjab Police when he was removing the obstacles in the way of long march called by former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Umar had to take medical treatment at Kulsum International Islamabad for 3 days. He was shifted to Haripur only one day before than the accident took the life of his brother in law.
Waali of Swat Mian Gul Jehanzeb, the last ruler of Swat State was enthroned on December 12, 1949 and left it voluntarily in July 28, 1969 after it merged with Pakistan.He was a visionary who was in touch with his people and took keen interest in the day-to-day affairs of the state.
Mian Gul Jehanzeb was always keen to preservation of Swat’s rich cultural heritage. He knew the importance of culture and heritage and during his time, cultural dance shows and festivals on Eid were conducted under the government’s protection.
The architectural style unique to Swat was maintained, and the buildings were provided with all basic facilities. He had also signed an agreement with the Italian government for exploring ruins and had also established a museum.
