Embassy of Russian Federation celebrated their national day just a day after when first shipment of Russian crude oil arrived at Karachi port of Pakistan sparking a welcome in the public who are looking forward to decrease in petroleum prices thanks to import of what government has been claiming for long cheap petrol.
45 thousand metric ton crude oil was received on 11 June while 50 thousand metric ton more is expected next week. The people of Pakistan expressed their happiness on social media as they are fed up of high prices of petroleum that are emptying their pockets for last many months in Pakistan.
The Russian Embassy hosted the reception in connection with their national day on 12 June. Therefore the Ambassador Mr. Danila Ganich received double congratulation, one for national day and second for import of Russian oil. Minister for law and justice senator Azam Nazir Tarar attended the celebration as chief guest. Former Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Sohail Mehmood was also prominent among the guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Danila Ganich, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Islamic Republic of Pakistan hosted a grand reception at Serena Hotel Islamabad. The parliamentarians, government and military officials, civil society representatives, business community and media persons were also present at the event.
Deam pf diplomatic corp, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Mr. Atadjan Movlamov, Ambassador of Turkiye Dr Mehmet Pacaci, Ambassador of Tajikistan Ismatullo Nasredin, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan Mr. Totuiaev Ulanbek Asankulovich, Diplomats from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Ambassador of Republic of Belarus Mr. Andrei Metelitsa, Ambassador of Morocco Mohamed Karmoun also graced the reception with their presence.
Minister Tarar, in his keynote address said that Pakistan is committed to further strengthen friendship and cooperation with Russian Federation. Pakistan looks forward to continuing cooperation in the areas of energy, defence, infrastructure and food security.
He shared that Pakistan Russian Federation trade volume has reached up to $ 10 Billion. He did not give any detail in this regard that how he has claimed this figure. Also it was noted by the guests that why Dollars to be named here where it is anti currency and when Pakistan has purchased the crude petroleum in other currency than dollars.
“Today we are celebrating the strength and resilience of the Russian people. Our relations today are marked with the amity, cordiality, trust and mutual understanding. we commemorate the 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations, said the Minister.
Law Minister stated that the relations between the two countries are on a positive trajectory for the last two decade. Recently Pakistan and Russia concluded their first ever joint military exercises last year. The two sides also held comprehensive discussion to strengthen economic cooperation under the inter government commission held in Islamabad in January this year.
“We remain convinced that our bilateral relations serve not only our respective national interests but also contribute to regional security and global stability. To conclude Law minister thanked the Russian people for their friendship and support in particular the Russian government’s expression of solidarity with the flood affected people, Mr Tarar concluded.
