    Gaza Strip/ Palestine : Israeli forces in their desperate efforts to take revenge of Hamas’ surprise attacks have opened another front on the border with Lebanon engaging Hizb Ullah as well in the large scale skirmishes resulting in more deaths and destruction. Hamas on 07 Oct 2023 crossed the line from Gaza into Israeli occupied territories that left hundreds of their colleagues dead , more than thousand severely injured and dozens made hostage.
    Palestine health ministry has updated the figures on 08 Oct that 313 Palestinian martyrs and about 1990  were injured as a result of the Israeli bombing of areas in the Gaza Strip in an Israeli retaliatory response against Palestinian civilians. More than 15 buildings were destroyed by Israeli Air Force in Gaza, two of which include 100 apartments each.
    Israeli forces are on collective punishment of the Gaza Strip by targeting homes and civilian buildings, cutting off electricity, and preventing the supply of fuel, gas, food commodities, etc. to the Gaza Strip.
    Israeli TV has confirmed more than 350 Israeli soldiers died, and more than 1900 Israeli soldiers and settlers were wounded, more than 345 of them in dangerous situation. 670 Israelis were lost, and dozens of prisoners from the Israeli army and settlers are between Palestinian freedom fighters’ hands.
    Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that it was dreadful day for Israelis. We will take revenge. It will be a long war. The responsibility of safety of the hostages lies upon Hamas. He claimed that most of deaths on our sides are of civilians. Other sources have not confirmed it. On the other hand, Israeli war planes have hit civilian residential buildings.
    Pakistan has expressed concerns at the unfolding situation in the Middle East. The statement from the MOFA of Pakistan reads as;
    “We are closely monitoring the unfolding situation in the Middle East and the eruption of hostilities between Israel and Palestinians. We are concerned about the human cost of the escalating situation.
    Pakistan has consistently advocated for a two-state solution as the key to enduring peace in the Middle East, with a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian question anchored in international law and in line with relevant United Nations and OIC resolutions. A viable, sovereign and contiguous State of Palestine should be established on the basis of pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
    We call on the international community to come together for cessation of hostilities, protection of civilians and for a lasting peace in the Middle East.”
