Embassy of Korea & Radio Pakistan Come in Touch for Cooperation through “Pakistan in the World” Media Org

ISLAMABAD: The Korean Embassy and Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (Radio Pakistan) have developed understanding on forging cooperation in media, communication, information level during a visit of the Ambassador of Republic of Korea , H.E Park Ki-jun to the state run radio headquarters.
He was warmly received by Director General Saeed Ahmad Sheikh at his office. Both sides discussed the media landscape of the respective countries and agreed to continue the interactions regularly.
Editor Diplomatic International magazine “Pakistan in the World” Mr. Tazeen Akhtar coordinated the visit of the Ambassador to the government media organization and thus played key role in construction of  the linkage between the two sides.
On arrival, the Ambassador was welcomed by Director Current Affairs Ghulam Mujtaba Memon and Director News Aman Ullah Sipra. Spokesperson of PBC Zameer Ashraf and Asad Ullah Khan was also present.
H.E Park Ki-jun, in meeting with DG PBC and other officials discussed matters of mutual interest and working of media outlets in RoK and Pakistan. He was briefed about the services of Radio Pakistan in different sectors like news, current affairs, education, culture, agriculture, weather forecast, disaster warnings etc.
Director General Saeed Ahmad Sheikh expressed his gratitude for RoK’s technical assistance at Radio Pakistan in Multan, South Punjab. Head of Engineering section, especially briefed the Ambassador about this project. It was agreed that whenever the Ambassador intends, Radio Administration can arrange his tour to PBC Multan offices.
The Ambassador had a detail tour to different sections of Radio Pakistan that included News, Current Affairs, Foreign Languages, FM Channel, Technical Education Channel and others. He took keen interest in the diversity of the services from PBC.
At the foreign languages section, Editor Tazeen Akhtar proposed that Korean language service may also be started. Mentionable here is, a large number of Pakistanis is living in Korea while thousands of Pakistan youth are learning about Korea.

At Sports level, Taekwondo, the Korean Marshal Arts is very popular and on cultural side K-pop is attracting the youth who take part in cultural events and win applaud with their enthralling performances.
Radio Pakistan recorded interview of the Ambassador on bilateral cooperation, present status and future prospects. H.E Park Ki-jun highlighted the salient features of mutual relations and shed light on their development since the establishment of diplomatic linkages in 1983.
The interview was shared in audio and video format on national network and social media of Radio Pakistan.
