Pak-Polish Commanders Discuss Defence,Training and Security Matters

Rawalpindi;Lieutenant General Jaroslaw Mika, Commander of the Polish Armed Forces acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s professionalism, efforts in fight against terrorism and contributions towards regional peace and stability.

He said this while visiting the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where he called upon Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday 21 May 2019 according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

“Issues of mutual interest including defence, training and security cooperation between the two armies were discussed,” it added.

Earlier, on arrival at GHQ, the commander of the Polish armed forces laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A contingent of Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.

Poland Pakistan Defence Cooperation has a long history and Polish Air Force Officers were in this region after WW2. They supported newly established state of Pakistan to set up its air force. Some Polish officers spent lives in Pakistan and they were burred here.
