BAKU / Azerbaijan: AZERTAC – “COP29 will achieve a new success in Azerbaijan,” said Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, President of COP28, as he addressed the official opening ceremony of COP29.
He underlined that currently 55 countries had officially joined the initiative to globally boost the renewable energy potential, but this number should be increased. According to him, more is still needed to describe the consensus reached in Dubai as historic.
Moreover , Mr.Keeble Claude Mercier, the representative of United Arab Emirates expressed his views with Azertac. He said, “My expectations for COP29 is to finally get the finance for all the good ideas that they had in the last four or five meetings,”.
“This COP29 is supposed to organize everything to be able to fulfill all the projects they have. So hopefully it’s going to be done during this COP29,” the UAE’s representative said.
He hailed the excellent organization of COP29, adding that Azerbaijan has done a very good job.
Keeble Claude Mercier expressed hope that this event would contribute to the climate action.
