ISLAMABAD: 17 Feb 2025 – Chairman Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has left for Azerbaijan on a five-day official visit. According to a statement issued by the Senate Secretariat on Monday, the delegation headed by the Senate Chairman will attend the annual session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly and other important sessions.
Founded in 2006, the APA fosters regional cooperation and diplomacy. The session will be held from February 17 to 21, 2025, at National Flag Square, Baku, with delegations from over 30 parliaments and international organizations attending.
The high-level delegation under the leadership of Chairman Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani will discuss in detail various issues including bilateral relations, trade, investment promotion.
During the visit of the Chairman Senate , new opportunities for mutual cooperation will be sought.

The Chairman Senate will also hold meetings with the top leadership of Azerbaijan to discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation and stability in the region.
During the visit, he will also meet with the Pakistani community and businessmen. Along with the Chairman Senate, the parliamentary delegation includes members of the Senate and members of the National Assembly.
Chairman Senate will meet the Pakistani community living in Azerbaijan and listen to their problems.

This visit will be the beginning of a new chapter in the relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. The visit of the Pakistani delegation will further promote economic and trade cooperation and strengthen the relations between the parliaments of the two countries.
Senator Mr. Ponjoo Mal Bheel, one of the visiting member, shared on his social media , ” Along with fellow parliamentarians, en route to Baku, Azerbaijan, to attend the 15th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), led by Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.”
Members of the National Assembly Anjum Aqeel Khan, Khurram Shahzad Virk, Erfan Zafar Laghari, Farhan Chishti, Senator Talal Chaudhry are also in the delegation. There is no MNA or Senator from the opposition party PTI in the delegation.
