Uzbekistan and Pakistan — Advancing Together Toward a Digital Future!

ISLAMABAD : On July 10, the GLOBE Pakistan Summit – 2025 was successfully held in Islamabad, organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan. The summit focused on enhancing regional cooperation in the field of e‑commerce.

Ambassador Uzbekistan H.E Alisher Tukhtaev participated in the event as a Special Guest, representing Uzbekistan — a country confidently advancing its digital transformation and open to mutually beneficial partnerships.

The summit was attended by Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Amna Baloch, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, Jawad Paul, Federal Secretary for Commerce, Faiz Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), along with the Ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, other diplomats, and representatives of leading companies such as Ali Baba, Daraz, Jazz Cash, DHL Express, Paynet, Uzum, Wildberries, and many others — with more than 300 participants in total.

The participants discussed how e‑commerce and digital platforms can be leveraged to expand economic ties between Pakistan and the countries of Central Asia, with special emphasis on logistics, cross‑border trade, and access to global markets through modern technologies.

He proudly shared insights into the transformative reforms underway in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, including the strategic “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” initiative, aimed at strengthening online payments, logistics, and digital trade infrastructure.

Uzbekistan’s Agency for Strategic Projects also joined the summit via video conference and presented the unique potential of our country in digital cooperation and e‑commerce.

Uzbek side emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on E‑Commerce Cooperation signed between the Governments of Uzbekistan and Pakistan on November 4, 2024, which serves as a strong foundation for our growing strategic partnership.

Ambassador said, “We stand united in our vision to position Uzbekistan and Pakistan as regional leaders in digital commerce. I am confident that our collaboration will drive economic growth, attract investment, and enable robust technological exchange.”

Uzbekistan Pakistan together are building a digital bridge between Central and South Asia fostering shared progress, mutual respect, and prosperity for both nations!
