UAP Trans Afghan Railway Research Framework Agreement Signed in Kabul by All Three Members

    ISLAMABAD KABUL : In the presence of foreign ministers of Afghanistan Islamic Republic, Uzbekistan Republic and Islamic Republic of Pakistan. ا. Trans Afghan Railway Research Agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Public Interest, Uzbekistan Transport and Pakistan Railways.

    Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister @MIshaqDar50, along with the Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, held a trilateral meeting in Kabul ahead of the signing of the Framework Agreement on the Joint Feasibility Study for Uzbek-Afghan-Pak (UAP) Railway project.

    The meeting reaffirmed strong ties and a shared commitment to peace, connectivity, trade, and regional development. The three sides emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation to unlock the region’s economic potential and ensure long-term prosperity for their peoples.

    This is the first-ever trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan — a powerful symbol of growing mutual trust, good neighborliness, and our shared commitment to sustainable regional development.

    During the meeting, the Trilateral Framework Agreement on conducting a Joint Feasibility Study for the Uzbekistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan Trans-Afghan Railway Project was signed — a project of strategic significance for the entire Eurasian continent.

    Ambassador Uzbekistan to Pakistan, H.E Alisher Tukhtaev shared on his social media page , “This transport corridor will open a new artery for trade and connectivity, accelerate the economic recovery of Afghanistan, expand Central Asia’s access to southern seaports, and create new bridges between markets, peoples, and cultures.

    He reaffirmed  strong commitment to:

    Deepening trade and economic cooperation
    Expanding collaboration in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and construction
    Transforming the Termez International Trade Center into a regional hub for growth and partnership

    “This day will be remembered as the beginning of a new era of regional unity and economic breakthrough, he noted.
