Addis Ababa, October 17, 2025: The Minister expressed his gratitude to the Chairperson for his time and highlighted Pakistan’s “Look Africa Policy,” under which a series of Pakistan Africa Trade Development Conference and Single Country Exhibitions have been organized to enhance economic engagement with African nations.
Additional Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb Hamid Asghar Khan and Ambassador Ethiopia Dr Jemal Bekar Abdula were also present in the meeting.
He also discussed the potential for trilateral cooperation involving Pakistan, African Union member states, and third-party stakeholders. Key areas of interest included food security, agriculture, agri-tech, information technology, and human resource development.
Both sides agreed on the importance of developing a roadmap for future collaboration, aimed at identifying concrete steps and priority areas to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
The Cahirperson. Mr. Youssouf appreciated Pakistan’s initiatives under the Look Africa Policy and acknowledged the country’s active role at international platforms, including the United Nations. He welcomed the prospect of enhanced cooperation, particularly in food security and agriculture.
He also expressed interest in signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Pakistan in areas such as agri-tech collaboration, human resource development, and peacekeeping support within the framework of African Union missions.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen ties and work towards sustainable and inclusive development across Africa and Pakistan through continued dialogue and partnerships.
