Islamabad : November 30,2025 – Pakistan and Egypt took a leap forward to strengthening already present close cooperation on Sunday in Islamabad after in-depth delegation-level talks at DPM/FM level from both sides. The brotherly countries agreed to establish a new Business Council and convene a Ministerial Business Forum in Cairo.
Deputy Prime Minister /Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held talks with Egypt’s FM Dr. Badr Abdelatty today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Senior officials from both sides participated.
Both sides reaffirmed commitment to strengthening Pakistan–Egypt ties and agreed to revive institutionalized mechanisms, including the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) and Annual Bilateral Consultations (ABC), to enhance cooperation across trade, investment, health, education, culture, and people-to-people ties.
The Ministers also agreed to:
– establish a new Business Council
– identify key Pakistani businesses for B2B engagement with Egypt
– convene a Ministerial Business Forum in Cairo in Q2 2026
– and hold Senior Officials’ meetings in Islamabad in Q1 2026 to prepare for it.
– The Egyptian FM announced doubling scholarships for Al Azhar University.
DPM/FM thanked Egypt for its support in Pakistan’s Hepatitis C elimination efforts and for promoting educational and cultural ties through Al Azhar scholarships.
