President Pakistan Wishes Sudan Continued Peace, Stability and Prosperity on Independence Day

ISLAMABAD : President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has expressed his best wishes to  Mr Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) of Sudan on the Independence Day of Sudan.

He said in his message, “On behalf of the Government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and personally, I extend my warm felicitations to Your Excellency and to the brotherly people of the Republic of Sudan on the auspicious occasion of your Independence Day.”

” Pakistan and Sudan enjoy long-standing cordial relations rooted in shared values, a common Islamic heritage, and mutual respect. Our ties are marked by trust, cooperation and consistent support for each other in international forums. Pakistan attaches high importance to Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and stands for unity, peace and stability in Sudan at this challenging time, President added.

He noted, “Pakistan values its fraternal ties with Sudan and remains keen to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including political engagement, economic collaboration, and people-to-people exchanges, for the benefit of our two peoples. We believe that continued dialogue and cooperation will contribute positively to regional peace and shared prosperity.”

“I avail myself of this opportunity to convey my sincere wishes for the continued peace, stability, and prosperity of the Republic of Sudan, and for Your Excellency’s good health and success in leading your country towards progress and development, President of Pakistan concluded.

Pakistan calls for immediate ceasefire in Sudan , protection of civilians, unfettered humanitarian access, leading to a peaceful political transition as per aspirations of the people
