    ISLAMABAD :  Khalifa Belgasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army in the Eastern and Southern regions, arrived in Pakistan accompanied by his deputy, Saddam Haftar, along with a delegation of senior military and political officials, including the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, following an official invitation.

    Libyan media has commented on the visit as , Pakistan intendes to sell Chinese fighter jets to Haftars for its debt payment.

    They were received by Pakistan’s Army Chief, Asim Munir, in a high-level welcoming ceremony. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries, with both sides praising the depth of ties and expressing interest in broader partnership.

    ISPR of Pakistan added ; Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Hafta FCr, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, along with Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & CDF, at General Headquarters (GHQ) today.

    Saddam Haftar Calls on Air Chief Marshal Pakistan in Islamabad

    During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on security dynamics in respective regions and professional cooperation. The discussion underscored the importance of continued engagement and collaboration between the Armed Forces of Pakistan and Libya.

    Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir welcomed the distinguished guests and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya. He emphasized Pakistan’s support for peace, stability, and institutional development in Libya.

    The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Libya.

    Earlier, on arrival at Noor Khan Airbase, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar was received by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & CDF. The dignitary also paid homage to Shuhada and laid wreath at martyrs memorial at GHQ.

    Libya Observer added ; Khalifa Haftar and his son and deputy commander of his forces, Saddam Haftar, arrived in Pakistan on Monday, where they were received by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with several senior Pakistani military officials, during an official reception ceremony.

    Haftar’s media office said the visit comes in response to an official invitation from the Pakistani side, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and open broader prospects for coordination in areas of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the interests of both countries.

    The media office added that Haftar expressed his pleasure at the warm reception and welcome, stressing his aspiration to develop bilateral ties and open wide horizons for partnership across various fields.

    The visit comes two days after the arrival of the head of the parallel government, Osama Hammad, in Pakistan. Hammad was among those who received Haftar upon his arrival at the airport in Pakistan.

    Haftar’s arrival in Pakistan also follows a visit by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, to Benghazi in December 2025, during which the two sides signed a joint cooperation agreement and military procurement deals valued at more than $4 billion.
