Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Information has decided to terminate the services of 8 highly paid contract officers with immediate effect. The officers include Khawar Azhar and Quatrina Hussain appointed by PTI Gov itself on contract basis.
A letter in this regard has been issued by Asad Jaspal Director Admin on 07 Dec 2020. The big decision came only few days after Naeem Bukhari, close aid of PM Imran Khan took charge as new chairman of PTVC. 6 Officers were posted by PTI Gov while 2 by PMLN Gov.
The names and salaries of these officers are;
1- Khawwr Azhar —- chief Marketing Strategy —–1.5 Million (15 Lakh pkr)
2- Rashid Latif (Cricketer) — Analyst/ Brand Ambassador —-9,50,000 pkr
3- Tahir Mushtaq ——— Chief Human Resourse ————-8,70,000 pkr
4- Quatrina Hussain ——Chief News & Current Affairs ——-8,70,000 pkr
5- Nasir A Naqvi ——– Chief Technology Officer ———- 8,70,000 pkr
6- Khurram Anwer ——Executive Producer —————5,05,000 pkr
7- Asim Baig ———– Head of Corporate Affairs ——–5,05,000 pkr
8- Col R Nadeem Niazi —– Head of Security ————-4,25,000 pkr
Rashid Latif and Nasir Naqvi were appointed during PMLN government.
Quatrina Hussain and Khawar Azhar are already faced a case in Islamabad high court in which appointments by PTI Gov were challenged. Chairman Arshad Khan was removed by the court while the others remained safe. MD Amir Manzoor is also said to be among disputed appointments. Sources reveal that his number is also coming soon.
The notification reads as “PTV is short of finances, the payments due to PTV are not forthcoming. PTV already has 3560 regular employees. Therefore it has been decided in principal that the number of contract employees on high salaries has to be drastically reduced. This is with the approval of Minister and Secretary of Info Ministry.”
A meeting of these 8 officials has been called on 08 Dec 2020 to get this notification implemented.
Here it is worth mentioning that the officials, all or few can challenge the decision in the court.
