Update on the situation at the Pakistan Afghanistan border as of 0340 hrs
ISLAMABAD : Friday February 27 – In response to unprovoked Afghan attacks, Pakistani counter strikes have been authorised and several iterations of these strikes have been conducted.
A total of 133 Afghan Taliban combatants have been terminated, more than 200 have been injured. 27 Afghan Taliban posts have been destroyed and 9 Afghan Taliban posts have been captured.
3 Brigade Headquarters, 2 Corpe and 2 Sector HQs, one battalion headquartershave been destroyed.
So far, more than thirty six (36) tanks, artillery guns and armored personnel carriers have been destroyed.
Two Pakistani soldiers have embraced martyrdom.
Further counter-attacks are going to take place in keeping with Pakistan’s resolve to be immediate and effective in response to any aggression.
Pakistani posts been captured or damaged, but the Pakistani side has inflicted heavy losses across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in response to unprovoked Taliban aggression.
Any claims of damage to Pakistan thus far are little more than the fantasy of India’s proxies in Afghanistan. InshaAllah, rest assured, all aggression targeting Pakistan will get the same response: immediate and effective.
Earlier, on the eve of 26 Feb, Afghan Taliban miscalculated and opened unprovoked fire on multiple locations across Pakistan Afghanistan border in KP which was met with immediate, and effective response by Pakistan’s security forces.
Taliban regime forces were punished in Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram and Bajaur sectors. Early reports confirm heavy casualties on Afghan side with multiple posts and equipment destroyed.
Pakistan Air Force sources shared near midnight that unprovoked aggression by Afghan forces was met with a strong and decisive response today after the Afghan side reportedly opened fire at multiple locations along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.
The response targeted the following sectors:
Bajaur–Nawagai Sector
Khyber–Tirah
Mohmand District
Chitral–Arundu Sector

Five Afghan personnel were killed in Khyber
The situation remains tense along the border as developments continue.
Pakistan will take all necessary measures to ensure its territorial integrity and the safety and security of its citizens.
Pakistan carried out precise strikes on seven targeted locations inside Afghan territory two days ago. Security officials stated that the operations were conducted in response to what they described as continuous cross-border militancy and security threats originating from Afghan soil.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Afghan government, officially announced a declaration of war against Pakistan, calling the Pakistani strikes an act of aggression against Afghan provinces. In his statement, he said Afghanistan would respond with full force in retaliation.
Following the announcement, the Government of Pakistan confirmed the launch of a military campaign titled “Operation Ghazab Lil Haq.” Officials described the operation as a defensive measure aimed at safeguarding national sovereignty and countering hostile actions.
Reports from border regions indicate heavy exchanges of fire between the two sides. Artillery units, mortars, and quadcopter drones are reportedly being used as fighting intensifies along multiple sectors of the border. Residents in nearby areas have reported loud explosions and heightened military movement.
In Oct 2025, Pakistan carried out precision strikes exclusively targeting hideouts of Afghan Taliban and Kharijites in Kandahar and Kabul. According to security sources, the strikes in Kandahar targeted Taliban Battalion Headquarters No. 4 and No. 8, as well as Border Brigade No. 5. These targets were carefully selected, located away from civilian areas, and successfully destroyed.
