ISLAMABAD: Samar Khan, the young emerging mountaineer of Pakistan is going on her expedition to climb the highest peak in South America. She couldn’t get it sponsored. Instead, as she enters the new year, she is carrying a debt of 1 million PKR.
“An international climbing company can sponsor my entire climbing fee and gear, Pakistani companies cannot even sponsor my airfare ticket, she shared on her social media page.
Samar laments , “No matter how much you are celebrated and recognized on international platforms, you’ll never be good enough for Pakistani companies and brands, unless you go viral on social media (even if it’s through dancing or roasting others).”
