Lahore: American Consulate will soon open  Lincoln Corner at Quaid-e-Azam Library, Lahore. Consul General Ms Hawkins signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Quaid-e-Azam Library & the Punjab Public Libraries Department to create this high-tech, educational center in the capital city of Punjab.
The agreement was signed by Kashif Manzoor Sheikh Director General PPLD in a ceremony in which CG US Consulate and other officials were also present.
Lincoln Corners are partnerships between the Embassy of the United States of America and selected institutions in Pakistan. Located within universities, public libraries, and cultural centers, Lincoln Corners are multi-media resource centers, where visitors can connect, practice their English, and learn about America in many different ways.
Lincoln Corners provide access to current and reliable information about America through books, magazines, movies, and more. They offer comfortable spaces for learning and open dialogue. Free wi-fi internet is available to access U.S. information websites and eLibraryUSA  research databases. Cultural programs, speakers, and special events bring added excitement to the spaces.
