ANF Officer’s Suicide – Minister & DG offer Benefits after Death but No Investigation

To the dissatisfaction of most of the staff of Anti Narcotic Force, the high officials have not taken notice of the suicide of a civilian officer even after 7 long days and nights passed. The concerned officials did not replied to the query of this scribe even when they were asked to share their point of view.

Assistant Director Malik Asif shot himself with his gun in the office Kahuta Road ,Yamaha Chowk on 10 Nov and the sources disclosed that his boss Brig Mubashar Zaidi had initiated many inquiries against him for nothing but only on personal grudge.

Reliable sources has revealed that Minister Azam Sawati and DG Maj Gen Arif Malik visited Malik Asif’s residence in Attock and met with his father , a retired Subedaar. They condoled with Asif’s father but nothing assured about any investigation into why Asif committed suicide. Sources disclosed that they have convinced Asif’s father not to go into the investigation whatsoever and be contented on the perks and benefits that will be given on priority basis.

Assistant Director Malik Asif was facing  departmental inquiries on the directives of his Director Brig Mubashar Zaidi and he was disturb mentally because of the explanations and pinching attitude of the boss.

Malik Asif fired in his head with his gun. He was badly injured when the relatives took him to PIMS Islamabad where he succumbed to the head injuries on 10 Nov 2020.

It is worth mentioning that Asif  was not from Army. He was DSP from Police. Earlier he spent 3 years as incharge of different Police Stations of ANF and he had a good relations with his Director Brig Mubashar Zaidi but soon after he was transferred from that position , hard time started with his boss calling explanations that finally took his life.
