Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Felicitates Mr. Qin Gang the New Foreign Minister of China

Islamabad: Foreign Minister of Pakistan Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has extended felicitations to his new Chinese counterpart Mr. Qin Gang on his appointment as FM China.

“I look forward to working with Mr. Qin Gang towards taking Pakistan China all weather strategic cooperative partnership to even greater heights,” Bilawal said in a twitter message to the counterpart.

Chinese Foreign Minister has thanked Bilawal for his warm congratulations.

Former FM China Mr. Wang Yi was promoted to the politburo of the ruling Communist Party in October. He is expected to continue to work in foreign policy there. Mr. Qin Gang is the youngest foreign ministers in the history of the People’s Republic of China. He is 56 while his predecessor is 69.

Prior to his ambassadorship, he was Chinese vice foreign minister. He was serving in Washington as ambassador of China. He had been spokesperson and a deputy director-general of the Foreign Ministry’s Information Department between 2005 and 2010.

Mr. Qin Gang outlined his priorities in his first statement as foreign minister. He says , “In solving common challenges, China’s diplomacy will offer “Chinese wisdom, Chinese initiatives and Chinese strength.”

His service in Washington is considered important by the observers while looking at China USA relations. He has admired Americans in his statement. State Secretary Tony Blinkens is expected to visit Beijing in two weeks where he will find Mr. Qin Gang as counterpart.
