Bridle & Formal Pakistani Dress Show by Sumayya Wasim @ Embassy of Italy in Connection with Women Day

Ambassador of Italy . H.E Andreas Ferrarese has said that women are our mothers, sisters, daughters, wives and in this status they deserve our respect and support. Women Day is celebrated to spread the message that we need to continue our work on protection of women rights. Strong empowered women make successful generations and good citizens that are useful for the society.

Ambassador was speaking at theĀ  Pakistani Bridle and Formal Fashion Show by Sumayya Wasim (SW)Couture, hosted by Embassy of Italy on 09 March in connection with International Women Day.

Ms Sumayya of “Sumayya Wasim” was the co-partner of this colorful event that raised awareness about the status of woman in a society. Ms Lara from Italy Embassy collaborated with “Sumayya Wasim” in holding such a magnificent show that attracted large number of women from different embassies and civil society of Islamabad.

Ambassador appreciated the role of Pakistani women that they are playing in different spheres of life. He said that Pakistani women have made success stories. Italy advocates women rights and the embassy will continue holding the activities to highlight the importance of women in the development and well being of the nations.

Ambassador and Mrs, Andreas Ferrarese graced the event with their presence at the show in which variety of bridle and other dresses were show cased by models. Singer Jabbir Abbas traveled all the way from Karachi to perform in the event. He amused the audience with his performance on popular songs of the movie “Punjab Nahi Jaon Gi”.

Ms Lara introducing the purpose of the event, said that Embassy of Italy supports women rights and plight. We celebrate women day every year in the Embassy. This year , we collaborated with Sumayya Wasim for her beautiful dress designs. It is not only about the dresses and designs but it is about the success story of a woman in the business that is Sumayya Wasim.

She received appreciation from the audience when she announced that the income generated from the show is dedicated to the empowerment of women who are imparting education in low income areas. The organizers also placed a donation box to collect the donations that will be donated to the teaching staff of these areas.

Asif Maya, Waseela Studios, Q Jewelers, DJ Ceylon, Omar Studios also contributed their support in organizing this event. Models Fayzah, Mominah, Maha and others walked on the ramp to the huge applause from the participants.
