Islamabad;21 Feb 2020 – Islamabad Serena Hotel in collaboration with the Embassy of the republic of Turkey inaugurated a 10 day long Culinary Art Turkish Food Festival at the grand Zamana Restaurant.
Federal Minister Fawad Hussain was chief guest who cut the ribbon to inaugurate the festival in the presence of General Manager Serena Michel Andre Galopin and Mr & Mrs Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Ambassador of Turkey.
The visitors will be transported to the magical metropolis of Istanbul as accomplished Turkish Chefs from the enchanting Ciragan Palace in Istanbul will prepare the best of the Turkish Cuisine.
Sous-Chef Serdar Ongel, Chef de Partie is at Serena Islamabad for the festival. Davut Kutlugun and Pastry chef and Chocolatier extraordinair Servet Kanat,who are responsible for many of the superb meals at the Ciragan Palace Kempanski hoteel in Istanbul, the only 17th century Ottoman imperial palace turned hotel in Turkey.
Turkish Cuisine is on the center stage with a wide variety of soups, mezze and kebabs which will be featured on the daily menu along with desserts and assortments. The sea food is also featured along with a live counter serving made to order shawarmas. The chefs will use premium quality ingredients and delicate techniques, giving the diner an extraordinary experience. Turkish musicians will add magic to the event, playing mystical music with folk instruments such as the divan saz and cello.
Mr Michel A. Ambassador ,answering questions at the press briefing, said that Turkey and Pakistan are working on enhancing cooperation in hospitality and tourism sector. He said that Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Ministry of Education Pakistan agreed to set up a Center of Excellence in Pakistan for hospitality training and education.
He said that Pakistan is new destination for tourists but tourists do not tour the countries themselves. They are attracted with the facilities , infrastructure etc. Tourism requires experts of hospitality and other related necessities. Turkey is ready to share its experience in tourism sector with Pakistan.
Turkish Airline has sponsored the festival. Representative of Turkish Air Mr Omer Khan was also present at the occasion.
