Pakistan is celebrating 58th Defense Day on 06 SEP in a situationer that the armed forces are still facing coward attacks by the enemy in the darkness of night or in shape of suiciders that can not be detected. The enemy crossed the border on eastern side on 06 SEP 1965 at night without prior proclamation of War. The enemy is targeting Pakistan Army on western border areas in the same coward way, hit suddenly when the Army personnel are traveling and run away. Our soldiers fought gallantly 58 years ago. They are still fighting the Menace sacrificing their precious lives. The attack was thwarted then, the evil will be surely nip in the bud now as well, In Sha Allah.
ISPR shared the details that on 31 August 2023, a Motorcycle borne suicide bomber exploded himself on a military convoy in general area Jani Khel, Bannu District. Resultantly, nine soldiers including Naib Subedar Sanobar Ali embraced shahadat, while five soldiers were injured. Armed Forces of Pakistan stand resolute and committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the motherland at all costs.
General Syed Asim Munir, COAS visited Bannu very next day where COAS was briefed on the ongoing operations and overall security situation. COAS visited CMH Bannu to inquire about the health and well-being of the injured soldiers. COAS appreciated the high morale and unflinching resolve of the troops.
“Pakistan Army will continue to act as a bulwark against terrorism to safeguard the nation from this scourge ” COAS emphasized.
While interacting with officers and troops deployed in the area, COAS emphasized, “The Army, Law Enforcement Agencies and the Nation can never be coerced by the cowardly tactics of the Terrorists, who have a misbelief that they can challenge the iron resolve of the soldiers and writ of the State.”
He further said, “We have fought for long and will continue to fight the menace of Terrorism till the end. The Nation pays rich tribute to those who have laid their lives and their sacrifices will forever be honoured.”
Same day the security forces conducted an intelligence based operation on reported presence of terrorists, in gen area Miran Shah, North Waziristan District. During conduct of the operation, a party of terrorists was spotted and intercepted by Major Amir, who was leading the operation from front. Resultantly one terrorist was sent to hell while another was injured.
However, as result of heavy exchange of fire, two brave sons of the nation, Major Amir Aziz (age 29 years, resident of Sargodha District) and Sepoy Muhammad Arif (age 27 years, resident of Sahiwal District) having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat.
Funeral prayers of Major Amir Aziz and Sepoy Muhammad Arif were offered at Bannu on 02 Sep 2023. Shuhada will be laid to rest with full military honours in their respective hometowns. Senior serving military & civil officials and public attended the funeral prayers.
Earlier on night 31 Aug/1 September 2023, fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists in general area Tirah, Khyber District.
Own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, resulting in killing of one terrorist. The killed terrorist remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent civilians. However, during intense exchange of fire, Havildar Muntazir Shah (age 36 Years, Resident of Sawabi District) having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat.
The rise in terrorist attacks at the start of September is symbolical in a sense that the month recalls the defeat of Indian Army by Pakistan Army in 1965. Pakistan has proofs that India is fully involved in expansion of terrorism along Afghan border. Indian Embassy and consulates in Afghanistan have been found engaged in suspicious activities. Pakistan always follows a restraint in retaliation to such attacks only to maintain the peace in the region but the enemy is taking advantage of this responsible handling of Pakistan Army to the grim situation along the border with Afghanistan.
It is clear that the only way for the terrorists to get arms, food and money is from Afghanistan side. It is not possible without the connivance of Afghan officials and Indian diplomats in disguise. Unfortunately, Kabul is being governed by a regime that itself is not recognized and does not feel responsibility to the infiltration of terrorists from across their territories into Pakistan.
It is not about hitting Pakistan only below the belt. This unstable and insecure situation in KPK and Balochistan suits well to the opponents of China Pakistan Economic Corridor mainly. And it is not about CPEC only but affecting connectivity efforts between Pakistan and Central Asia, especially with Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Uzbekistan is keen to take their train to Peshawar while Turkmenistan is looking forward for the completion of TAPI and TAP projects that can supply fuel gas and electricity to Pakistan.
India is included in TAPI but moving on snails pace only because the project can help Pakistan grow its economy with its needs of energy fulfilled by Turkmen sources. India also takes the project as a harbinger of peace in the region that is not the priority of Modi Regime.
Pakistan can raise the issue with the above mentioned countries including China, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. They have their own relations and influence upon the Indian Government. China and India are two major partners in SCO as well as BRICS. China has engaged not only Indian government but Kabul Regime as well in different agreements of cooperation. The terrorism promoted and supported by our enemies at our western border is as damaging for them as for Pakistan.
