Islamabad: A delegation from Azerbaijan Technical University visited the OIC-COMSTECH Secretariat, where it met with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General, OIC-COMSTECH.
Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary termed Azerbaijan an important and valued member country of the OIC and highlighted COMSTECH’s strong commitment to enhancing academic, scientific, and technological collaboration among OIC member states.
He underscored the significance of strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation through structured and sustainable mechanisms.
During the meeting, the discussions also emphasized the need to promote mobility of scholars and foster long-term academic partnerships.
Prof. Dr. Choudhary stressed that there is a strong need for establishing permanent institutional mechanisms to ensure continuity, effectiveness, and measurable outcomes of collaborative initiatives between universities from Azerbaijan and OIC-COMSTECH.
The delegation appreciated the role of OIC-COMSTECH in promoting cooperation in science, technology, and higher education across the OIC region and expressed keen interest in developing structured partnerships under COMSTECH’s framework.
Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Ali Focal Person COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad and OIC-COMSTECH officials were also present on the occasion.
