Fate of Imran’s Voters-Donated Lands for PM’s Project – Remaining Confiscated for Same Purpose

Mianwali/ Nimal Lake: Malik Zia Ullah Awan – Government of Pakistan has confiscated ancestral agricultural lands on 32 hundred canals in Prime Minister’s election constituency of Mianwali for Imran’s educational project “Nimal University”. The poor land owners taken aback by the cruel act of their own leader whom they voted with some good expectations.

It is village Kallari near Nimal Lake where Prime Minister’s Nimal University has been established. The confiscated land will be used for this project’s extension. Local community leaders who are the owners of this land since ages have asked the Prime Minister this is what you reciprocated to us in return of our trust and vote to make you successful?

Here it is worth noting that the land owners were neither issued any notice nor they were contacted by the administration to discuss the land acquisition, do they want to sell the lands and what will be the price?

The land owners shared that our ripe crops were destroyed by the administration. They have damaged us twice. First they silently confiscated our lands and fixed the price unilaterally at only 20 thousand rupees per canal and second they are not ready to pay for the price of the ripe crops. They just order us to dispose of your crop as soon as possible.

The land owners say that we donated lands for Nimal only because it is educational project but now they are snatching our remaining lands that are the only source of bread and butter for our families.

The land owners came to know the confiscation of their lands only when they received the orders and checked with the administration. The affected people sent applications to Prime Minister to review the decision but no one responded to their appeals.

It was only then, that the affected moved the justice and the court has issued stay order in their favor.
