First Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Inter-Club T20 tournament

Rawalpindi-27 Jan 2019: The Government, under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan has a great focus on healthy and positive activities and striving out most effort to promote sports among youth at lower level. These activities will help us to spread the positive image of Pakistan.

This was stated by Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Dr Fehmida Mirza on Sunday while inaugurating the at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

She appreciated RCCI role for promoting business and community activities in the region. She assured full cooperation and assistance in promoting sports and healthy activities among the youth. Rawalpindi gave many names to cricket, like Shoaib Akhtar and I am hopeful that this tournament will also pull some new talent.

Earlier, President RCCI Malik Shahid Saleem said that the main purpose of this initiative was to promote healthy activities among the youth. It’s a part of RCCI key imitative “Glorious Rawalpindi” aiming to mainstream the positive image of the city through different parts and segments including sports activities, beautification and revival of historical places of Rawalpindi.  The tournament will also help to identify new emerging talent in the city.

Chairman Sports committee, Rizwan Mashadi, while providing details said that there will be 76 teams and it will be played in six rounds. The first five rounds will be on knock out basis.

The 20 days tournament is being organised in collaboration with city district government, sports and cricket associations.

The final will be played on February 16.
