Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qurashi has said that our government is trying to promote tourism because Pakistan has lot to offer in tourism sector but unfortunately the menace of terrorism remained a hurdle.
He was addressing to the participants of Orange Festival in historical city of Taxila hosted by Zaildar Ahsan Shah. Office of Dean of Diplomatic Corp, Ambassador Turkmenistan also collaborated in the arrangement of the event.
Orange Festival is held annually in the month of Feb. Zaildar Ahsan Shah and brothers host it at Zaildar House situated in the center of city.
It is always a memorable event that is graced by dignitaries from different walks of life including government, military and diplomatic community in large number.
FM Qureshi was the chief guest of the Festival on 11 Feb 2022. Dean of Diplomatic corp Ambassador Turkmenistan H.E Atadjan Movlamov was also present.
Ambassadors of Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Japan, Maldives, Sweden and other countries also enjoyed the festival. Representative of Turkish Republic of North Cyprus also attended the event.
It was sunny Friday morning. The guests were amused by horse dance, weight lifting, sufi music and delicious juicy oranges for sure. The stalls of ornaments, sculptures of Gandhara Civilization, local handicrafts and others attracted the participants who visited and took keen interest.
Center of Global Strategic Studies CGSS representation was also there with the presence of Col Taimur Khalid.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that weather begins to be pleasant in Feb and next two months of March and April are good to go out of Islamabad. Foreign Minister appreciated the efforts of Zaildar Ahsan Shah in promotion of soft image of Pakistan through Orange Festival.
