Pakistan faces multidimensional problem in different sectors. We lack Finances, Resources, Unity, Stability etc. But we are SELF SUFFICIENT in Chaos, Anarchy, Confusion. We don’t know even in the crystal clear legal matters about what is the status of the matter and what will be the conclusion. That because our Courts are mostly following the Personalities than the Prosecutions, Law. Now when Election Commission of Pakistan has issued the Long Awaited Decision, again everyone, even the legal and constitutional experts are discussing the decision is this and not that.
“Imran and PTI can be Banned – Imran and PTI can not be Banned”
This is not the debate in between the commoners only. Legal experts are explaining the decision in different ways with difference of opinion. Debates on legal, constitutional, political points has been the best resort to escape the real problems of this country and the countrymen.
Our national issues are poverty, inflation, floods, unemployment, default etc. But we are busy in how Imran Khan can be controlled? how people’s attention can be diverted to the issues they have nothing to do with. How civil military can work on one page? A matter that has always ruined the path towards democracy in this unfortunate country. On one side we are celebrating 75 years of existence and on other side we do not know what are the powers of Election Commission? Where the Parliament’s limit ends and Judiciary’s area starts? and many things like the same.
New addition to diversion of the public’s attention from real issues of this nation, is ECP Decision on Foreign or Forbidden Funding of Imran Khan and PTI. Legally, Constitutionally Imran is disqualified and PTI should be punished for their wrong doings, not only proved but they admitted themselves as well but this matter will not be concluded and arguments on tv channels between the politicians, experts and media persons will continue for long and that with no result wasting precious time of this mob without any direction.
Hiding a single minor thing from Election Commission can qualify an election candidate for disqualification. Here a heap of forbidden illegal matters surfaced that were hid from ECP but no clear decision has been issued by the Authority.
Kunwar Dilshad, former secretary election, the most senior officials on election rules, with vast experience says,” Article 17 of Election Act 2017 empowers ECP to 1- Disqualify the Chairman Imran Khan 2- Cancel registration of PTI (this is not Ban on the Party) 3- Cancel election symbol of PTI.”
Only few days ago, Kashif Mehmood, an MPA of PMLN from Punjab has been disqualified by ECP for he submitted falsified statement regarding his education degree.
“As long as, the ban on the party is concerned, here the Government of Pakistan will move a reference on the basis of ECP decision to seek ban on the party”, Kunwar Dilshad made clear in a tv talk.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified while he was in office only for not sharing the information of his Residence Permit in UAE and hiding his salary as director in the firm of his son there. Chief Justice the then Saqib Nisaar took personal pain to further explain that ” It is crime. He (Nawaz) has not collected salary but he could.”
The main case was on Panama Leaks. Nawaz’ name was not there. But he was prosecuted and persecuted as if it was the life and death matter for some big guns put on shoulders of CJP Saqib Nisar and accomplices. The other members of his bench were the same Justice Bindyal and Justice Ijaz ul Hassan who are hearing all main political cases leaving all the other Justices away, actually keeping the Justice (Insaaf) away in the vast interests of Tehreek e Insaaf.
Yes! GoP can move SCP on the ban of PTI but it will not be more than an eye wash only. PMLN has always provided escape to PTI. Akbar S Babar, the petitioner in FFC at ECP, shared with me few months ago that ” I sent proofs to the then ministers interior of PMLN government, Mr Chaudhry Nisaar and Ahsan Iqbal but no one bothered to respond even, let alone taking any action.”
We are witness to 4 months long illegal, irresponsible, anti Pakistan Sit In of PTI in 2014 from 14th Aug to 16 Dec when 150 children and staff of Army Public School were gunned down in their class rooms in Cantonment area of Peshawer. 14th Aug is our national existence day and 16 dec is the day when Pakistan broke into two part converting East Pakistan into Bangla Desh.
Whoever selected the date 16 Dec 2014 for massacre of children in their school was never punished (Spokesperson of TTP Ehsan Ullah Ehsan escaped from their own custody in the same city )neither the officials responsible for the security of Peshawer and Cantonment and Army School were never brought to book.
It was only then, that the arrogant leader of this all time angry political pressure group was ready to leave the red zone of the capital city of the country. We are waiting for some other national tragedy of the same type?
Factually, Legally, Constitutionally, Imran Khan has been disqualified and PTI is proved irresponsible pressure group of money launderers by hook or by crook. But it is also matter of fact that Imran Khan will never be eliminated from political scenario. He will continue receiving favors from the unknown quarters because he is asset against the parties of charter of democracy.
The nation will continue wandering here and there like a confused mob. The real issues will remain on the back burners and every party will continue enjoying the power at their relevant provinces and places.
