Islamabad; 23 Nov 2019- Ambassador of Norway to Pakistan Mr. Kjell Gunnar Eriksen has said that the Norwegian government strongly disapproves of the Quran burning in the right-wing demonstration in Kristiansand.
He clarified in a tweet that the police stopped the demonstration for security reasons. In Norway everyone has the right to free speech and to practice their religion without being harassed.
Earlier the Ambassador was called to foreign office of Pakistan to convey the deep sentiments of the government and people of Pakistan to the government of Norway.
Norwegian authorities were urged to bring the responsible to the justice and to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
