TAZEEN AKHTAR from Islamabad @ 07 May 2025 @ 01 AM
ISLAMABAD : Finally India started war by hitting 5 cities in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. India soon after midnight of 06 and 07 May fired missile on Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, Kotli, Bagh cities at LoC, Mureedkey near Lahore, also Sialkot in North Punjab and Bahawalpur, Ahmed Pur East in South Punjab. CNN reports India attacked 9 places in Pakistan.
Military sources of Pakistan has confirmed two Indian jets have been destroyed. The jets are Rafale that France provided to India and these jets were continuously flying near the border to take any action against Pakistan but they themselves became the target.
Pakistan has also claimed of destroying a Brigade Headquarter in Occupied Kashmir while a check post in Dhudhinial sector of LoC also eliminated.
Concerned authorities in Pakistan are gathering information about how much damage the Indian missiles have caused while a local journalist in Bahawalpur shared that one child died and dozens are severely injured. 2 civilians are dead in Kotli Azad Kashmir. The missile hit a Masjid around which many houses of poor people are situated. In Kotli also a Masjid was damaged.
Mureedkey attack with missile hit a government health complex where 2 are reportedly dead while many injured. India sent drone to Sialkot that was gunned down by Pak Army.
DG ISPR Lt Gen Sharif Chaudhary has confirmed Indian missile attacks and expressed resolve of befitting reply to India. He said, Pakistan will decide the time and place of response to Indian cowardly attack.
The statements from both sides are strange after the attacks. Pakistani Defense Minister said, ” The enemy could not cross the border neither her air force war planes could enter into our spaces.” His emphasize was more on the low intensity of attack but not on why Pakistan could not intercept the missile in the air.
Indian press statement about attack is more weird as New Delhi said , ” No military installment has been made target.” It is the first example that the country admits hitting civilians.
India calls the attacks as Operation Sindoor ( A red powder that Hindu women have in their head as the symbol of their marriage ). India claims that the terrorists have been hit but failed to provide any trustworthy information or proof to support the claim.
Pakistan has imposed no fly zone in her airspace for 48 hours. The flights have been cancelled and the passengers have been sent back from the airports. Electricity black out has been reported from some cities in Pakistan.
Pakistan Strongly Condemns India’s Blatant Aggression
In an unprovoked and blatant act of war, the Indian Air Force, while remaining within Indian airspace, has violated Pakistan’s sovereignty using standoff weapons, targeting civilian population across international border in Muridke and Bahawalpur, and across Line of Control in Kotli and Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. India’s act of aggression has resulted in martyrdom of civilians, including women and children. This act of aggression has also caused grave threat to commercial air traffic.
We strongly condemn India’s cowardly action, which is a flagrant violation of the UN Charter, international law, and established norms of inter-state relations.
In the wake of Pahalgam attack, the Indian leadership has once again used the bogey of terrorism to advance its sham narrative of victimhood, jeopardizing regional peace and security. India’s reckless action has brought the two nuclear-armed states closer to a major conflict.
The situation continues to evolve. Pakistan reserves the right to respond appropriately at a time and place of its choosing, in accordance with the Article-51 of the UN Charter, and as enshrined in international law.
The government, armed forces and people of Pakistan stand united in the face of Indian aggression. They will always act with iron resolve to protect and preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.
